Legislative Yuan: absurdity to the max

1. Taiwanese think of legislators not as national law makers, but as people who serve them when they have personal needs. For example, when Joe Blow's father passed away, Joe expected his legislator or legislator's wife to appear on his door step and weep. When John Doe's roof was severely demaged in the storm, he too expected his legislator to appear at his door step. In this way, legislators are not respected like US senators. They are respected like 顏清標.
   
2. Since Taiwanese do not regard legislators as law makers, legislative election does not look like a congressmen election. To wit,
• Voters do not care what legislators had done when they run for re-election. The do-nothing legislators get elected, as are KMT legislators who sabotaged Legislative Yuan for the past eight years. On the other hand, voters easily reject legislators with impeccable records. In summary, good performance in Legislative Yuan does not give legislators any advantage. What could be more absurd than this?
  
• Integrity and honesty are irrelevant. There is not even one KMT candidate morally acceptable; yet five million Taiwanese voted KMT.
  
• In spite of the fact that millions involved in buying and selling votes, the judicial system can never catch and prosecute them, just as the judicial system could not find Ma guilty even though he openly admitted his guilt.
  
3. A city mayor is elected by city folks; a county magistrate is elected by county folks. Common sense tells us that to elect national congressmen, we must be using land unit larger than city and county, but the real system uses district so small that it defies any logic.

Clean house Taiwan

They call themselves news media, but they are criminals. A news media reports on events, and leave comments in their editorial or opinion sections. Look at the following practice of the likes of 聯合中時 of forever mixing comments in reporting. What gives them the right of using such adjective 新三寶 when they are obviously not writing an editorial? Taiwan is not a civilized society when government does not protect its citizens from such outrageous criminal acts. Taiwan is not a civilized society when Taiwanese are insensitive to such criminal acts. These so-called news media must be prosecuted; they must be closed.

The biggest loser of the 2008-01-12 calamity

The biggest loser of the 2008-01-12 legislative election is Taiwanese. They voted in such a way as to render themselves defenseless against 中國國民黨. They offered themselves as sacrificial lamb to 中國國民黨: Master, eat me and drink me as you please. Consider these:

1. Can you think of just one moral person amongst all 中國國民黨 people?
2. Then, what makes you think 中國國民黨 will do better than the past seven years of non-stopping sabotaging in the Legislative Yuan, forever sacrificing Taiwanese interest?
   
3. Who can now defend Taiwanese when 中國國民黨 abuses its absolute power in the Legislative Yuan?
   

Some Taiwanese have claimed victory in this astounding Taiwanese disaster. These are citizens who refused to vote because they hated 陳水扁 so much that they wanted to 給民進黨一個教訓. Consider these:

1. This is an election to elect legislators, not 陳水扁
2. If you don't vote, don't you live with the consequences of bad apples being elected?
3. While you value you desire to 給民進黨一個教訓, have you thought about the future of your offsprings? Is your anger to 民進黨 and desire to 給民進黨一個教訓 more important than your children?
4. Finally, isn't your hatred of 陳水扁 and 民進黨 largely the day-in-day-out influences of such entities as 聯合, 中時, and TVBS? Why are you so easily brainwashed when you have a choice not to be?
   
   

Five million (5,010,801) evil people?

Read 李筱峰's article at the end to see that 中國國民黨 is factually evil. Rather than thinking that the five million (5,010,801) people who voted for 中國國民黨 on 2008-01-12 are evil people, I think many of these people are simply not educated about the evil-doings of 中國國民黨. The ubiquitous use of the term '藍綠' suggests that the difference between 中國國民黨 and 台灣民主進步黨 is a matter of color. It is as if 中國國民黨 and 台灣民主進步黨 were respectable alternatives. But the fact is that 中國國民黨 appears to be related to 中國國民, while 台灣民主進步黨 is truly rooted in 台灣. 中國國民黨 is factually evil, while 台灣民主進步黨 tries hard to be 民主進步.

If Taiwanese had been properly educated, then any association with中國國民黨 would have been considered a shame, much as being associated with Nazi a shame.

If we can make people understand how evil 中國國民黨 is, I would be surprised that people could continue to support 中國國民黨, because that would make them knowingly evil supporters, therefore evil themselves.


後代史家想知道的問題

昨天立委選舉揭曉，中國國民黨大勝，民主進步黨慘敗！連討黨產公投都無法過關！這個結果，不僅中國北京當局隔海竊笑，百年之後的後代史家，也必定大惑不解。除非百年之後的社會，仍是一個「黃鐘毀棄，瓦釜雷鳴」的時代，否則後代史家一定想解答以下的諸多問題：

為什麼一個曾經殺害過那麼多人的政黨，拒絕轉型正義，卻還會受到台灣人的支持？

為什麼一個長期反民主，至今仍反對直接民權（公投）的政黨，還受到台灣人的肯定？

為什麼一個以破壞台灣的獨立主權為能事的政黨，不會受台灣人唾棄？

為什麼那個過去要我們「反共抗俄，消滅共匪」，現在卻要「聯共制台」的政黨，台灣人卻能如此適應他們？

為什麼一個侵占國產，累積黨產數千億的政黨，台灣人仍投票給他們？

為什麼討回中國國民黨侵占自國家的黨產，可以有非常多的好處（例如：五歲免費讀幼稚園大班、國中小教科書免費、國中小營養午餐免費、高中職免學費、大專助學貸款和青年創業貸款全部免利息），台灣人卻不願意？

為什麼在國會裡面事事杯葛，處處反對（例如反對國家重大投資案、反對軍購案、反對治水預算、反對監察院長及委員人事案… ），時時想辦法癱瘓政府的政黨，還會受到人民的支持？

為什麼一個極力鼓吹台商錢進中國的政黨，反而會受到自認為生活變壞的民眾的支持？

為什麼一個政黨擁有一大堆逍遙在外的貪污通緝犯、經濟通緝犯（他們掏空台灣數千億），還會受到台灣人的投票支持？而且還跟著他們喊「反貪腐」！

為什麼提出眷村改建條例等「錢坑法案」，將使台灣人負擔一兆三七六○億元天文數字的立委們，台灣人又讓他們順利連任？

為什麼說出把原住民「當人看」的馬英九集團，還會受到原住民的支持？

為什麼那幾位曾經涉嫌貪污或賄選，有案在身的立委們，台灣人還容許他們連任成功？

為什麼那位炒股票致富、還幫國民黨變賣黨產的立委，台灣人也可以讓他如願連任？

為什麼一個製造「咬耳朵」的謠言的立委，依然受到台灣人的肯定？

太多的「為什麼」可能會困擾後代史家。這些「為什麼」，恐怕不是「集體斯德哥爾摩症候群」、「奴才性格」，或是後藤新平所說的「台灣人怕死、愛錢、愛面子」等詞句所能解釋的。台灣人，我們就等著歷史來審判吧！

Taiwanese need to speak up before it is all too late

By being silent, Taiwanese lost many golden opportunities. Here is an example: 中國國民黨主席吳伯雄 keeps on complaining about '公投綁大選、亂大選' . This would be a great opportunity for all of us to point out how incredibly evil and unreal 中國國民黨 is. All we need do is to speak up by presenting a sample ballot in an American election that includes referendum items (e.g., http://www.juneau.org/clerk/elections/2006/Sample_Ballot_Oct-3-2006-Regular_CBJ_Election.pdf). But most of us choose to remain silent. The result? 中國國民黨 uses this utter-nonsense accusation to brainwash our people in its newspaper reports, and newspaper and TV ads. To be fair, 大話新聞 repeatedly refuted this accusation by showing such ballots. But the fact that 5,010,801 people voted for 中國國民黨 on 2008-01-12 showed that not enough people watch 大話新聞. Let us stop expecting 大話新聞, 頭家來開講, 自由時報 etc to speak for us. Let us all speak up before it is too late.

Let us put vote-buyers where they belong: jail

There is this most incredible joke in Taiwan: everybody knows that KMT candidates buy votes, but our judicial system cannot catch them.
So, the judicial system is so incredibly incompetent that it cannot catch a rapist who does it openly in the marketplace under the sun light - for example, it could not find 馬英九 guilty in two courts even when he publicly admitted that he was guilty (see http://taiwan1st.net/t1/news/9)
